    The mission of Siletz Bay Music Festival is to bring multi-genre world class music performed by outstanding musicians to the Central Oregon Coast; to reach across race, culture, age, social and economic barriers, to uplift and educate all people seeking extraordinary musical experiences. Miriam has enjoyed collaborations with many artists including Mei-Ting Sun (artistic director), William Wolfram, Katherine Schultz, Armen Kzajikian, Ken Peplowski, James Shields, Tosca Opdam, Nancy Ives, Gerald Robbins, Haroutune Bedelian, Lorna Griffit, Tim Fain, Anthea Kreston, Nicole Greenidge, Daniel Frieberg, Asi Matathias, Emily Su, Mimi Jung, Michelle Bushkova, George Dimitrov, Ron Arron, Paquito D’Rivera, and many more.

  • Wild Shore New Music

    2024-2026
    Performances with innovative new music festival founded by Katie Cox, Andie Tanning and Conrad Winslow, touring Alaska annually. 2026 featured composer & performer Eve Beglarian and culminated in a concert with her at Roulette Intermedium in Brooklyn.

  • Sunriver Music Festival

    2017-present

    Dr. Ward returns annually to Oregon to play as a tenured member in a chamber orchestra of international musicians in this popular destination music festival.

  • Faculty Chamber Music Concerts

    Miriam has enjoyed performing with colleagues at the universities and schools where she serves as faculty. In recent years, she has performed sonatas by Hindemith, Shostakovich, Bowen, Rochberg; showpieces by Bruch, Bridge and Kouyoumjian.

    Critically acclaimed Naxos recordings of works for violin with chamber orchestra. Soloist Tomás Cotik delivered “by some distance, Naxos’ best Piazzolla recordings”.

    Miriam collaborates on a lush program with cellist Katherine Schultz and pianist Mei-Ting Sun including Brahms’ gorgeous trio in A minor, Op. 114, the viola sonata in F minor, Op. 120 #1, the cello sonata in E minor and more.

  • Fantasy for Viola with the Portland Chamber Orchestra

    Miriam performed as soloist with Portland Chamber Orchestra, playing the world premiere of a Fantasy written for her by composer Jasnam Daya Singh, as well as the lush romantic era “Romanze” by Max Bruch.

  • Atomic Duo Recital

    Early November: Private venue
    Katherine Schultz, cello, and Miriam perform works of Bright Sheng, Beethoven, Mazzoli, Bach, Lutoslawski, Cassadó and more.

  • Early Music Ensembles

    Miriam plays baroque viola with an early chamber music concert joining colleagues Dawn Lindsay- violin, Dr. John Lutterman- cello, Dr. Laura Koenig- flutes, and more.
    She has also performed on historical instruments with Madison Bach Musicians in Wisconsin, and the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra in Oregon.

    Spoken word artist Darius Wallace and composer Jasnam Daya Singh’s critically acclaimed collaborative work with Portland Chamber Orchestra has been performed in various venues and festivals in Oregon.
